State Paid Parental Leave
Overview of paid parental leave and paid disability leave programs available for family leave
Many workers are entitled to take unpaid leave under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA).
There is currently no federal law providing or guaranteeing access to paid family and medical leave for workers in the private sector.
Some states have their own paid leave programs and requirements.
13 states and the District of Columbia have laws that create paid family and medical leave programs for eligible workers.
